Tell me, who doesn’t want to smell like a freshly baked cookie this time of year? I know I do!
Ginger Biscuit is very much a gourmand perfume and therefore it may be a bit too much for a lot of people out there. Even for me it can be too much some days. So, I would highly recommend smelling this one first (if you can) before taking the leap of faith and buying it.
Or you may have been one of the lucky few to have gotten your hands on the Limited Edition Christmas Cologne Collection set of five mini 9ml bottles which included this scent. The set consisted of Ginger Biscuit, Orange Bitters, Green Almond & Redcurrant, Midnight Musk & Amber and White Moss & Snowdrop in a cute little gingerbread house - bonus points for packaging on that one!
I already have a blog post all about Orange Bitters if you’re curious. It seems to have become a festive limited-edition staple at this point, so good if you are running low…
Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit Cologne
Now back to what you can expect from Ginger Biscuit;
- TOP NOTES: Ginger, Cinnamon and Nutmeg
- MIDDLE NOTE: Caramel and Hazelnut
- BASE NOTES: Vanilla and Tonka Bean
The ginger is at its strongest upon first spray and lingers the best when sprayed on clothing. The vanilla biscuity goodness on the other hand comes through the strongest when sprayed on skin and lingers beautifully.
You will smell the most like a freshly baked ginger biscuit at more or less the 3-hour mark when all the notes balance themselves out. After which the vanilla and what I would describe as sandalwood but seeing as it doesn’t contain that note must be the caramel and nuttiness of the hazelnut, take over on the skin.
I must say that this perfume has a wonderful fade and unlike some perfumes that become unrecognisable from first spray to last base notes, this one stays characteristically the same throughout its wear time.
But that is what I’ve come to expect from Jo Malone perfumes; simple notes that don’t morph upon wear.
There you have it, the new member of the Jo Malone limited-edition Christmas range.
Gotta say I love the cute touch of the bow in the distinct Jo Malone’s colours, and the amber-looking glass is just chef’s kiss.
So now that you know that I’m smelling like a bakery this Christmas, have you found any new favourites?
Or do you have a classic signature scent this time of year?
I know Orange Bitters doesn’t stray too far out of my reach during this season either and would love to see Jo Malone do an apple and cinnamon combo because that would be heavenly! Still kicking myself for not getting the limited-edition boxset this year though, but there is always next year…crossing my fingers that they re-release it!
P.S. On my nails (in the first set of photos) is Essie’s Row with the Flow from their 2022 “Swoon in the Lagoon” collection. And on my lips is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 118 Wild Side (this burnt orange is a staple for me in the autumn!)
